|The NextGen Clock is Ticking!
There are less than 48 months until the ADS-B Out mandate is in place, and there are still over 250,000 aircraft yet to be properly equipped. To help you meet this challenge, AvComm has been working with avionics OEMs, the FAA and end users to modernize our test equipment and make sure you're prepared.
Globally, outdated Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems are being transformed with new technology to improve safety, efficiency and reduce costs as our congested skies will experience even more growth in the future. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recognized the need to bring global airspace governing authorities together to ensure compatibility with new standards resulting from the NextGen ATM transformation projects.
AvComm recognized the need to keep ahead of the NextGen requirements and has been hard at work ensuring that your testing requirements will be met. Our test equipment supports the NextGen RTCA Standards for Transponder (DO-181E), UAT (DO-282B), TCAS (DO-185B, DO-300) and ADS-B (DO-260B).

Advanced Technical Group (ATG) Databus Products in Full Production
In early 2015, Cobham AvComm announced a licensing agreement with Advanced Technical Group (ATG) in Miami Lakes, Florida. The licensing agreement is for the manufacture, sales and support of legacy JcAIR/Aeroflex databus and custom T1200B product lines. We are happy to inform our readers that these products are now in full production, and ATG has delivered various models, including the handheld 429EX, 429EBP, DT200, DT400H and T1200B products, along with expected deliveries of DT600 in March 2016.
Although there was a slight delay in product availability due to the transition phase, ATG is well on their way to a long-term commitment of providing databus products to our mutual customers around the world, with Cobham AvComm's full support.
|Cobham AvComm Announces Release of Software Version 3.7.0 for the 3920B
Version 3.7.0 has major changes and improvements across all platforms within the 3920 Series Radio Test Set, and it is strongly recommended that all units be upgraded to this new version.
Automated test script updates will only be supported for 3920's with a minimum version of 3.6.0 and above. Version 3.7.0 is compatible with all 3920 and 3920B models of the 3920 Series product line. All systems now support an additional feature in the cable offset configuration screen.
The user now has the ability to sweep test cables from 100 MHz to 1 GHz. Up to three cables can be stored, and the loss factor is automatically used based on the frequency that the generator or receiver is set to. This allows automatic compensation of cable loss for the power or level measurements as well as generator level.
This feature was previously only available in Auto- Test applications. The feature requires the Tracking Generator Option 61. This is a very powerful and unique feature available only in the 3920 product line.
This software upgrade can be performed in the field. Click here
