2013 MWC Aeroflex E500 FDD TDD UE device handover announcement

Nick Carter provides a closer view of the E500 Capacity Test System which previously supported TDD and FDD has been enhanced to analyze TDD to FDD handover. The E500 simulates 1000's of UE handover between base stations.

Typically, the E500 is used for vendor (device) comparison or device validation of network performance. Test cycle times can run 2-3 weeks where test run 24x7.

PXI Maestro

PXI Maestro accelerates ATE development and lowers manufacturing cost of test.

PXI Maestro extends the PXI 3000 platform to provide a production-ready test system with integrated device under test control and the ability to test multiple devices in parallel.

  • End-to-end ATE for multi-up non signalling RF test
  • Supports single or dual RF channel PXI 3000 module configurations
  • Configurable to test from one to four devices per RF channel in parallel (up to eight in total)
  • Fully integrated with chipset specific device control and calibration methods

Dynamic Frequency Selection Testing

The Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) Radar Simulator and Response Analyzer is a fully integrated system for testing compliance to FCC 06-96, ETSI EN 301 & 302, Japan W53 & W56 and Korean standard for commercial equipment operating in the 5 GHz to 6 GHz UNII frequency band.

 

This Test Suite is application software used in conjunction with PXI 3000 Series RF modular instruments to provide stimulus and response measurement.

Updates to Existing Software - MIMO

True MIMO testing is now supported using new features of PXI Studio 2 and the WLAN Measurement Suite together with the 3050A/3320 Signal Generator and the 3070A RF Digitizer.

Senior/Principal DSP Engineer - RR 2732/3

Purpose of Role:

 

Implement real time embedded software in the LTE physical layer to meet the requirements of our mobile communications products.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Detailed Design, coding and debugging of real time embedded software in C
  • Implementation of Physical layer aspects of the 3GPP LTE FDD/TDD
  • Module and integration testing
  • Support of the system test team
  • Support and maintenance of existing code
  • Solve problems encountered in the product with minimum help.
  • Complete assigned work in time to the satisfaction of the project manager
  • Able to independently solve problems encountered in the product

 

Senior Embedded Engineer - RR 2734

Purpose of Role:

 

To assist in the development of real-time embedded software for the TM500 LTE product range, in particular for the control and logging infrastructure and Layer 1 controller for the LTE protocol stack development.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Design, implement and test of complete real-time embedded components forming part of the LTE protocol stack in the TM500 test mobile product.

  • Degree or equivalent in Electronics or Communication Engineering or a similar discipline
  • Experience of Real-time embedded application development using the C programming language
  • Experience in using VxWorks or similar embedded real time operating system
  • Experience of IP based data applications, such as FTP, HTTP, RTP
  • Ability to write clear, portable, maintainable and efficient code

 

Senior Protocol Engineer - RR 2735/6

Purpose of Role:

  

To assist in the development of real-time embedded software for the TM500 LTE product range, in particular for the RRC and NAS protocol stack development.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Design, implementation and test of complex real-time embedded components forming part of the LTE protocol stack in the TM500 test mobile product.

 

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Electronics or Communications Engineering or similar subject
  • Previously have worked on LTE and UMTS either in handset or basestation development as a design and implementation role
  • Experience of Real-time embedded application development using the C programming language
  • Experience in using VxWorks or similar embedded real time operating system
  • Experience of ASN.1 encoding/decoding
  • Knowledge of RRC - especially cell selection, connection and configuration procedures
  • Knowledge of NAS - especially attach/detach procedures and security
  • Knowledge of basic principles of LTE L2 and L1
